Migdalor (Lighthouse) Beach to chill out. Migdalor (Lighthouse) Beach is one of Israels most southern beaches, located about 2 km from the border with Egypt and about 8 km from the city. The beach is named after the lighthouse that is located on a hill across the road. This enchanted and tranquil beach offers a wonderful place to eat, have a cool beer, swim and dive around the magnificent coral reef or just relax under the pleasant Eilati sun while listening to the lovely chill-out music that plays in the background. The beach is quiet, intimate and clean and it offers showers and toilets. The visitors can also rent various types of equipment here, such as for snorkeling, goggles and inflatable floating mattresses.

Best snorkeling beaches in Eilat, in descending order:
1. opposite the Isrotel Princess 8 km (south from their piers is best). But unfortunately you can't count on parking on either side of the road in the summer or around holidays.
2. Migdalor (Lighthouse) Beach 6,6 km (the first beach just south of the Coral World and IUI buildings). I don't think they have onsite snorkel rentals, but I don't know for sure. They have bathrooms and chair/sunbed rentals. And refreshments also.
3. Coral Beach Nature Reserve. 5,7 km There's simply not as much to see in the shallows as in years gone by. I've taken lots of people snorkeling there and it's not what it was 15 years ago. For 'freediving' snorkeling (diving down to 20ft or more) it's very good, but the other sites I listed above are more appropriate for folks who just want to putter around and see fish and corals closer to the surface and closer to the shore. Also some people really don't like stepping off into deep-ish water from the piers. Their facilities (showers, bathrooms) have been under renovations for months with no end in sight.
