Hi, girls
Pasaule, I'd like to ask you what's the difference between
have and
have got? Yesterday I
watched a very interesting TV program - English version of "Apprentice". And two guys were talking in the same conversation using both -
have and
have got
I've been always wondering
which of those I should use in
which situation, now I have
a chance to ask a professional
Well, you can use both if
have/have got = possess (e.g. have a lot of work/have got a lot of work), just
have got is informal/colloquial. In other situations, when
have is a part of a phrase or collocation (e.g. have dinner, have a date), you should use
have.
I hope I've made myself clear?

Pasaule, any advice for developing writing skills preparing to master's studies abroad?
Not really, but you could try some books for academic writing...
