Effectively it changes the distance from the sensor plane to the "lens". But what it does in "real world" photography with 5 to 12 lenses moving around - I dont know.
Searching with favourite search engine on "lens movement" and "focus" did“t help that much eigther. I think there was some drawing on it on the flyer that came with one of my lenses. But I would have to check...and scan...

With your and others help it seems finally I'm starting to find the thruth
As fotolama has told and you have confirmed it (I mean focus lens) alows to focus on closer than infinity subjects. I don't know if it has something with a focal length and this I will try to find out. It would be good if you could share a drawing. Thanks for patience for all of you guys

. O tas purpuras tai biski gadina nervus. Na bet jau nieko nepadarysi manau visiem tas purpuras maisys nufotografuot Ziuresim kas kaip nuo jo issisuks O antra tai sutinku, biski blankesne nei kitos, bet ji turi tokio naturalaus sepia atspalvio kuris atsiranda kai saule nepilnai islindusi
